These cookies are still produced today by descendants of the original Lazzaroni family, who have lived in the same home in the center of Saronno for over 300 years. The home, which was once a monastery and is now known as the cloisters, houses an archive museum that preserves the packaging and artifacts of the family's history. The brand name of the company, "Chiostro," is Italian for cloisters.
