Vergani's traditional hard Italian torrone is made with 50% roasted almonds! They have been crafting confections in Cremona since 1881.

According to one legend, torrone was created in Cremona in 1441 for the wedding of Francesco Sforza and Bianca Maria Visconti. The sweet was made with honey, almonds, and egg whites and was shaped like the torrazzo or torrione, a 13th-century tower.
