Dominican Friars have passionately crafted Licorice since the Middle Ages, in Altri, Abruzzo. In 1836, the Menozzi family began industrial processing of this valuable plant and its derivatives, a tradition that continues today. Now in its third generation, the Menozzi family has owned the De Rosa brand since 1950. While production used to take place in the historic center of the culturally-rich Atri in Teramo, it now operates in a modern factory in the industrial area of the town.
