The fagottini from the Daoli company near Avellino, Italy, are made with apricot puree and are an awesome dessert. Made of very fragrant shortcrust pastry, filled with apricot puree. They are perfect to enjoy moments to relax.
This is a biscuit wrapped around an apricot filling. While the biscuit itself is mildly sweet, the filling moe than makes up for it. It would be good with afternoon tea or milk as a snack.
All the Years Ive bought from these folks, I never tried these. Definitely worth the wait! The only issue is the debate between doing them with a shot of Espresso or a properly paired Italian liqueur.
I was really surprised how much I liked these after eating two bites. It sorta reminds me of a Fig Newton, but the taste & texture is amazing. I wish I bought more as these are perfect for the morning with a cup of tea or coffee, or as a snack or after a meal.
