The Little Blue Boxes

Ferrara torrone — the little blue boxes — is one of the most nostalgic Italian sweets in America. For generations of Italian-American families, these 18 bite-sized pieces of soft, honey-sweet almond nougat have been a fixture at holiday tables, Italian feasts, and Sunday dinners at Nonna's house. Made in Campania, Italy from toasted almonds, pure honey, cane sugar, and egg whites, each piece is wrapped in edible rice paper and comes in three classic flavors: lemon, orange, and vanilla.
